Known as "The Peoples Princess" at the time of her tragic death ten years ago in August 1997, Diana, Princess of Wales, was characterised by her natural beauty and charitable personality. Modeller Tim Potts has captured Diana's demure expression and sparkling eyes, while depicting her in a characteristic off-the-shoulder evening dress of deep purple. It's a memorable portrayal of an icon of Britain in the twentieth century, complete with such fine decorative details as a gold trim necklace and earrings.
Expertly hand made and hand decorated, this bone china Princess Diana figurine is designed to commemorate the life of Diana in a limited edition of 10,000. Ever since she visited its Nile Street, Burslem factory in Staffordshire's "Potteries", Royal Doulton has had a special regard for Diana, Princess of Wales. It's not the first time Diana has been the subject for a Royal Doulton figurine: as the nation anticipated the royal wedding, Art Director Eric Griffiths modelled two portraits, both issued in a limited edition of 1,500.
